Project Background

Project Goals & Scope

The overarching objective was to modernize the aesthetics, usability, and marketing strategy surrounding Flikshop's web presence and mobile app based on market and user research.

Project Timeline

The project was divided into 4 sprints across the fall and spring semesters:

Sprint 0: Market & User Research

Researching potential market opportunities to expand target demographics beyond incarcerted individuals and their famlies & loved ones.

Sprint 1: Platform Integration & Redesign

Based on insights from sprint 0, the team focused on integrating the Flikshop Neighborhood and School of Business within a Flikshop Mail app. Work was also done to modernize the aesthetics and accomodate new interaction patterns such as hotswapping between product platforms.

Sprint 2: Flikshop Angels Rewards Program

Ideating and designing a donor rewards program for Flikshop Angels to encourage donations and improve donor retention.

Sprint 3: Handoff

Preparing project for client handoff and finalizing integration of Flikshop Angels Rewards and related depencies to mobile app prototype mockups.

Sprint 0

Sprint Kickoff & Goals

Team & Project Organization

Prior to the first client kickoff meeting, the team squared away basic organizational and workspace tasks:

• Set up a shared team email for stakeholder communication and the below workspace accounts

• Set up a  Figma Team  for future design work

• Created a  Trellow Workspace  for task management

• Set up a shared team Google Drive  with folder structures for future sprint deliverables

Client Kickoff Meeting

In the kickoff meeting the team engaged with the client to discuss and lock in the following goals & tasks for the first design sprint.

Sprint 0: Research potential market opportunities for Flikshop Mail to expand its userbase beyond incarcerated individuals with a focus towards elderly and military demographics (as suggested by the client).

•

Conduct competitive analysis against other similar companies offering prison communications & mailing services to understand Flikshop's current market positioning and potential opportunities for expansion.

•

Create and conduct market research surveys for elderly and military demographics to guage their respective growth potential

•

Conduct further interviews with internal Flikshop stakeholders (past & present) to better understand the Flikshop brand and mission

Additionally, because we used a default Google Slide template for this first client presentation, I decided to design some bespokely tailored slide templates .
